It’s been since February that I’ve had my own personal studio to work out of. Temporary setups and various large-scale works have been my life for the past 2 1/2 months. During this time I’ve had a chance to dive deeper into aerosols, both on walls and canvas. Beside me is my buddy I will soon share a garage studio with, the Ronsta Monsta, Ron Givens. We’ve both been attacking Spanish and German Montana’s color range to find what suits our pallet best. Using more mediums has expanded my creative process and I plan on experimenting a lot more once I have a decent space to do so in. Until then, here’s some photos of what’s been happening, building up to the dawn of a new studio.

Got to spend some time back in Stillwater, OK painting a very significant piece for a good friend of mine, Brandon Morton. The initial idea was and abstract sunset. After thinking about it for a week or so I remembered I had some very interesting photos of sunsets from Brandon’s wedding last year. Perfect. Next step, get to Stillwater and build the support. Way easier said than done. Building this 8′x4′ panel was where all the learning came in. But we gave it a day and got it done, then on to sanding, filling and priming. Altogether a good amount of work before any creativity occured. So the support was ready to go and so was I. 2 days of pretty much non-stop painting, and a few hours of tiny details revealed to me to the piece you see below. Almost entirely done with Montana Black cans. Great experience, great energy involved. I really love doing this…

I just thought this was an interesting view of my paintings all together…the colors of my reality.
